Things to do in San Antonio

From the stones of the Alamo to the meandering paths of the River Walk, San Antonio takes you on a journey through a land as grand as its reputation. Walk the lines drawn for independence when you visit the Alamo—one of five Spanish colonial missions. Stroll the cobblestone sidewalks of the River Walk to uncover an outdoor theater with flamenco dancers and mariachis, nationally acclaimed museums, luxury riverside hotels and sidewalk cafes that offer everything from authentic Tex-Mex to worldly cuisines. Kids of all ages will enjoy the NEW DoSeum, a museum where you learn by doing instead of just listening; or visit the San Antonio Zoo, one of the nation’s best. Just down the road you‘ll find SeaWorld San Antonio, the world’s largest marine life adventure park and family entertainment showplace. Here, diversity is a way of life; from the colors of the culture to a broad range of attractions. We invite you to a city unlike any other—San Antonio—a land of epic battles, flowing rivers and a flourishing culture – not to mention an awesome weekend of gymnastics!!

The convention center is located on the famous San Antonio Riverwalk, which has much to offer visiting families including La Villita Historic Arts Village and El Mercado (Market Square). Be sure to check out the newly expanded Museum Reach (completed in 2009), which incorporates a very cool recreational lock & dam as well and connects with the new urban revitalization of the historic Pearl Brewery. Even newer is the Mission Reach segment (completed in October 2013) which not only connects the River Walk to the historic San Antonio Missions National Park, but also includes a ecosystem restoration project and over 15miles of beautiful paved hike and bike trails.

The Convention and Visitor’s Bureau has a wealth of information to help you enjoy your stay in San Antonio!
